On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, NATUF for Environment and Community Development held the closing ceremony of the project “Improving the economic situation for youth orphans of Israeli Offense in Gaza 2014 and their families – Second Year
The ceremony was attended by Eng. Hatem Rafiq Hassouna, Chairman of the Board of Directors, of the NATUF for Environment and Community Development, and a delegation from the Bank of Palestine, represented by Mr. Khaldoun Abu Selim, Deputy Director of Public Relations and a delegation from Al Taawon Association, represented by Mrs. Maha Mohsin, Program Director that support the orphans of the Israeli offence in Gaza 2014 and their families. And other persons and beneficiaries of the project.
Hassouna expressed his happiness over the successful implementation of the project over the past two years. He thanked all the sponsors and funders of the project, particularly the Qatar Development Fund, Bank of Palestine and Al Taawon Association. He also stressed the need to continue in funding and supporting such projects to promote and empower young people in the Gaza Strip.
In his speech at the ceremony, Abu Salim said that the Bank is committed to supporting the young orphans in the coming years and thanked all those responsible for the implementation of the project, especially the NATUF for Environment and Community Development.
It is worth mentioning that the project is considered one of the most important projects of the program that care about the young orphans of the Israeli Offence in the Gaza Strip 2014 aged between 18-22 years, which aims to improve their economic conditions and develop their abilities and skills and integrate them into the labor market through the implementation of a series of training programs. And also to provide various opportunities for (temporary employment) to enhance their integration into the labor market, to implement community initiatives and to establish some of small income-generating projects to improve their economic conditions.
The project is implemented by the NATUF for Environment and Community Development, funded by the Qatar Development Fund and the Bank of Palestine under the supervision of Al-Taawon Association.
