ATUF for Environment and Community Development signs a new agreement with the Global Environment Facility, GEF Gaza – NATUF
NATUF has signed a new agreement represented by BoD chairman Eng. Hatem Hassouna for the implementation of Environmental and Health impact of Wadi Gaza pollution project with a generous funding amounting $ 30,000 from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) 'SGP” Small Grants Program”.
Eng. Rami Hossain, Executive director pointed out that the project aims to provide a comprehensive study to assess the environmental and health impact of pollution. Hence, to make the best effort to lessen the consequences caused by contamination of the valley through the implementation of several activities in order to assess the impact of pollutants on the various components of the environment from: soil, groundwater, seawater, animal housing and the growth of plants in this region and the health of inhabitants in Wadi Gaza.
From his part, Eng. Hatem mentioned that this project comes in response to achieve the strategic objectives of the NATUF in the coming years, which contributes in solving the basic problems related to infrastructure related to environmental impact and to find appropriate solutions that work on the improvement and development as well as working to raise the level of culture and environmental awareness among the Palestinian community.
