Natuf launched the training program

Natuf launched the training program Natuf Organization for Environment and Community Development in partnership with Arab youth climate movement has launched the training program for “Environmental Leaders Toward a Sustainable Community ” at Atfaluna Restaurant for the deaf in the presence of Mr. Basel Nasser representative/acting director of United Nation Development Program (UNDP) office in Gaza, Eng. Hala Othman director of environmental and climate change projects at UNDP, Eng. Hatem Hassouna chairman of Natuf Organization and Eng. Ramy Hossain executive director and number of project coordinators at Natuf Organization.
Natuf Organization said in its statement that the project is implementing with funding from EU and UNDP through Global environment facility- small grants program which is fall under EU project to support environmental governance through building capacities of non-governmental organization.
Eng. Hatem Hassouna, chairman of Natuf Organization has opened the workshop with welcoming statement for the participants where he mentioned that it’s an obligation to activate a program regards informing and spreading awareness among the Palestinian community about climate change which is considered as one of the most important causes that facing the whole world in the current millennium. And, this project came as implementation of Natuf Organization in the field of environment.
From his side, Mr. Basil Nasser acting director of UNDP Gaza office admired the partnership with Natuf Organization in representing such a vital projects considering these projects as a stimulusfor building youth capacities to help them to improve their environmental projects and to achieve sustainability in the Palestinian society.
In her turn, Mrs. Amal Shaikhah, the coordinator of this project pointed that this project is aiming to contribute in developing the local societies through building capacities of fresh graduates from environmental science departments as well as helping them to compete in initiating and implementing environmental related initiatives to limit the negative effects of human activities to achieve sustainable development based on environmental consideration.
It should be mentioned that this project will be implemented in 8 months where participants will receive training, workshops and field visits then they will execute 4 environmental initiatives that contributes to promote sustainability concepts among the community. As part of Natuf Organization philosophy and goals it’s seeking through such project to improve the quality of environment which is one of the most important issues that we must work to find solutions to it as a belief of youth ability to create change.
